SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS - NELSON'S TRANSPORTATION NETWORK
The City of Nelson is currently investing in its transportation network and is looking for feedback on how to make it safe and efficient for all users and modes of transportation. Part of this work includes creating a network of pedestrian and cycling pathways linking Nelson’s neighbourhoods and downtown together.
The City completed Phase 1 of this network in 2021 between the Fairview neighbourhood and Downtown along Third Street and High Street. Phase 2 will include linking the Rosemont neighbourhood to the Uphill neighbourhood along Vancouver Street and the Observatory overpass. This next Phase will include upgrading the Hall Mines Road and the Observatory Street intersection; Vancouver Street and Observatory Street intersection; and the Silver King Road and the West Richards Street intersection to optimize traffic patterns.
Do you have ideas for the most important factors to consider when expanding walking and cycling infrastructure and revitalizing this corridor?
