2020 REMEMBRANCE DAY IN NELSON - LIVE STREAMED EVENT
The public is invited to celebrate the Remembrance Day 2020 ceremony with family and friends in the comfort and safety of their own homes via broadcast on Facebook Live. The event will be live-streamed on the Royal Canadian Legion No 51 Nelson BC's
Facebook page.
This year's ceremony is scaled back due to current health regulations that restrict the size of public gatherings to fifty people.
There will be NO marching this year and only Legion members and veterans will be participating in the ceremony at the cenotaph in front of City Hall. The Legion asks that the public stay home and watch the event via live-stream.
Wreaths will be pre-laid around the cenotaph.
There will be a small contingent of people from both the Kootenay Kiltie Pipe Band and Nelson City Band also in attendance.
Besides the above, the format will remain.
The Legion Branch 51 would like to thank all of you for your continued support. Even in these hard times, the response to this year’s poppy campaign has been exceptional.
Wear your poppy proudly and please stay safe.
