As many of you know, the Province has moved to Phase 3 of the BC Restart Plan. We are now able to travel throughout the Province for non-essential purposes. For more details, please visit https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/emergency-preparedness-response-recovery/covid-19-provincial-support/phase-3 .
As we move into Phase 3, Mayor and Council continue to transition the City from emergency response to emergency recovery. Effective recovery includes planning and actions that are appropriate, aligned, prioritized and, most importantly, that involve the community – an ‘all of society’ approach. The Recovery Operations Center (ROC) has been initiated with the goal to transition from early, and sometimes ad-hoc recovery actions, to thoughtful community recovery strategies with structure and processes in place. The City is also working on its community recovery plan and will be engaging with various stakeholders to better understand what the pressing community needs are. Keep an eye out for opportunities to share your opinion, but in the meantime, it is important that we all support our local businesses.
Stay tuned on the City’s website and social media for weekly updates on the recovery efforts.
