100 Block of Baker Street
May 19 - May 29, 2020
WHAT’S HAPPENING?
Water system upgrades are being planned for the 100 Block of Baker Street. Undersized water main is being replaced in the intersection of Baker Street and Highway 3A. These upgrades are happening in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportation’s Highway 3A Paving Program taking place in the spring and summer of 2020. See map below for details.
HOW WILL THIS WORK AFFECT ME?
The west end of Baker Street will be closed to through-traffic at the four-way stop. Expect some public parking stalls on Baker Street to be closed for storing materials and equipment.
WILL MY WATER SERVICE BE INTERRUPTED?
Water interruptions will be required to some businesses and residences in order to connect to the existing system. If your home or business is affected, separate notification will be given prior to shut-off.
WHEN WILL THE WORK BEGIN?
Expect equipment and materials to arrive on or near May 15. Road closures will begin during the week of May 18. Crews will be working on site between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM; however, expect early morning work to occur to avoid traffic congestion.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Communicate with customers where possible, respect traffic and parking signage, and protect your vehicles by parking away from the construction zone.
