The City of Nelson and its Cultural Development Committee (CDC) are pleased to announce the continuation of the Art Rental Program, initiated in 2016. This program displays art by local and regional artists within the City’s indoor public spaces, promoting and reflecting the creative nature of Nelson.

“This program is a wonderful way to both support our talented and diverse pool of artists and bring a vibrancy to our City Hall, affirming the City’s commitment to supporting arts, culture, and heritage,” says CDC Chair Sydney Black.

The deadline for submissions is March 2, 2020. Applicants are asked to provide electronic images of their pieces, along with the medium, dimensions, value and artist bio. All artwork must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. Larger-sized pieces are recommended due to the nature of the space they will inhabit. Submissions will be adjudicated by the CDC’s Public Art Working Group.
