Hall Street Update Week of September 17 – 21, 2018
Due to adverse weather this week, the night work that Marwest had planned, was unable to proceed. The current forecast indicates a window of opportunity for this work to proceed over the evenings of Monday September 17, Tuesday September 18th and Wednesday September 19th.
As had been indicated in the previous Hall Street Update, Marwest will be undertaking instillation of the deep utility crossings as night work because the work requires the road to be reduced to a single lane of traffic. Due to the high daytime volume of vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the intersection, constraining the intersection to a single lane is only practicable during night hours.
Motorists and pedestrians are requested to please observe all signage and the direction provided by flaggers while this work proceeds. The speed limit in the construction zone has been set at 30 km/h.
McNally will be continuing with work around the Gazebo next week (adjacent to Prestige Lakeside Resort). This work includes the installation of light bases, the installation of irrigation piping and burying of electrical conduit. In addition to these works, continuation of the work on the concrete pathway from the parking area to the wharf will continue next week.
The City would like to remind residents that the businesses remain open and that vehicle access to Gateway Plaza and 625 Hall Street is from Lakeside Drive via the Cedar Street detour route.
