PayByPhone Parking

The City of Nelson now offers PayByPhone at all parking meters, giving residents and visitors a simple, coin-free way to pay. Now, you can pay for parking through the PayByPhone app on Apple iOS or Android, or continue using coins at the meter—the rates are the same for all payment methods.

A one-hour minimum applies when using PayByPhone. For stays under an hour, please use coins at the meter.

Why use PayByPhone?

PayByPhone is easy and convenient:
  • No coins needed – pay directly from your mobile device.
  • Get reminders – the app notifies you when your parking is about to expire.
  • Extend from anywhere – add more time (up to the posted maximum) without returning to the meter.

How it works

Look for green PayByPhone stickers on every meter. Each meter has a unique code—enter this in the app or on the website when paying. Be sure to use the correct code to avoid receiving a ticket. The app also offers free in-app reminders, so you will never lose track of your parking time.
