Kays Road Contracting Ltd. completed the majority of their works at the Mountain Station reservoir and left the site for the next phase of construction. Hil-Tech Contracting Ltd. will be mobilizing to the reservoir site after the Labour Day weekend to start construction of a concrete building designed to house the valves and controls.
Next week, Monday, August 31, Kays Contracting will be working below the Great Northern Trail in the 1100 block of Hoover Street, closing the road above Cherry Street to all but local traffic only. In addition, a trail has been constructed along the watermain alignment in the Hoover Street Right-Of-Way(ROW) above the Great Northern Trail and work is being planned along this alignment in preparation for trenching and pipe laying.
Crews are planning to close the Great Northern Trail at the Hoover Street ROW commencing September 8 as Kays Contracting is crossing the trail with their works after Labour Day.
Hoover Street, above Cherry Street, extending to the reservoir site will be busy over the next few weeks. Please be mindful of the construction zones, traffic control personnel and all construction signage.
