[ARCHIVED] October 1, 2018 - UPDATE #40 - Hall Street Project Phase II

40-HallStreetProgressUpdate

Hall Street Update Week of October 1  - 5, 2018

Beginning the morning of Tuesday October 2nd, McNally will be working with CP forces to install concrete panels into the Hall Street rail crossing. These concrete panels will provide the finished surface for the crossing.

In order to install these concrete panels, the CP crossing at Hall will be closed to vehicle traffic starting the evening of October 1st. In order to provide vehicle access to the Gateway Plaza/625 Front Street, a right in/right out access will be provided to this area from Front Street beginning the evening of October 1st. The City would like to remind residents that businesses remain open.

While the work in the CP crossing proceeds, there will be no vehicle access across the tracks. Vehicle access from Lakeside Drive to Gateway Plaza/625 Front Street will be via the Cedar Street Detour to Front Street. Vehicle access across the CP crossing is anticipated to be restored by noon on October 3rd.

As a note, while right in/right out access will be available from Front Street to the 100 Block of Hall Street beginning the evening of October 1st, access to Hall Street from the Front Street intersection will be limited to the right in/right out access until the traffic signals have been reconnected. In order to reconnect the traffic signals, utility work must first be completed on the south side of the intersection. It is anticipated that the re-connection of the traffic lights and a full restoration of normal traffic movements will occur October 19th.

The City requests that drivers and pedestrians utilize caution while traveling through the area and to follow the signage and direction provided by flaggers.
