McNally has been busy placing fill material on the west side of the parking lot in order to obtain the grade required for concrete work and for paving. McNally has indicated that the construction of concrete formwork will proceed this Saturday for the pathway adjacent to the foreshore steps and for the sidewalk located on the north side of the intersection of Hall and Front.
SPL is anticipated to be on site on Monday and Tuesday of next week to pave the west side of the parking lot, along the curb on the north side of the Hall and Front intersection, the transitions along the west side of the 100 block of Hall and a portion of the rear lane behind Taylor Wilton.
Marwest has been busy this week installing conduit and storm manholes for the system that conveys storm water along Front Street. This upper system crosses over the deeper storm water system on Hall Street and conveys storm water east along Front Street. Two 600 mm storm pipes will extend from the storm manhole installed this week and will connect into a manhole that will be installed Tuesday of next week.
Marwest has also removed concrete on the south side of the Hall/Front intersection, so that the traffic on Front Street can be shifted further to the south, to facilitate the instillation of storm and sanitary piping into the intersection.
Marwest anticipates they are approximately two weeks away from reestablishing a drivable surface on the north side of the Hall and Front intersection, so that traffic can be shifted to the north side of the intersection. In making this shift, the signs and cones currently being used for traffic management will be adjusted to direct traffic appropriately. Additional information regarding the change in traffic management will be provided when the date of this change is confirmed.
