Hall Street Project Update for the week of July 23 - 27th
Work on Hall Street continued to progress with the instillation of storm sewer in the 100 Block of Hall Street and the instillation of electrical conduit and light bases in the parking area adjacent to the airport.
For next week, McNally will proceed with electrical work, as well as preparation work for the instillation of curbs on the north side of the Hall and Lakeside Drive intersection. Curbing work is planned parallel to the airport fence along the west side of the parking area. The mosaic inlay work in the foreshore steps is progressing with more of this work anticipated next week.
Marwest will continue with the installation of the storm sewer in the 100 Block of Hall Street. This installation is progressing but is a slow process, due the numerous
buried utilities that Marwest is carefully excavating around, in order to leave
these utilities in an operational state.
Drivers appear to have largely adapted to the new traffic flow and the flaggers have been helping facilitate pedestrian crossings This area remains extremely busy and it is
requested that both drivers and pedestrians observe the construction signage,
follow the direction of the flaggers and to exercise caution and courtesy while
traveling through the area.
The City would like to remind residents that the businesses remain open and that access to Gateway Plaza and 625 Hall Street is from Lakeside Drive via the Cedar Street detour route.
