The City of Nelson charges fees for various municipal services and products. 

Building Permit Fees and Damage Deposits

Building permit fees and damage deposits are found within Schedule A of the City of Nelson Fees and Charges Bylaw 3092, 2010. Please contact 250-352-8260 for further information on building permit fees and damage deposits. 

Business License Fees

Any person owning or operating a business within the City of Nelson is required to obtain an annual business license.  Please consult the Business License Application and Fee Schedule [PDF - 61 KB] for details.

Business owners are required to notify the City of Nelson of any changes to their existing business license. Updates can be submitted using the Business Licence Revision Form.pdf [PDF - 72 KB]. Please be aware that there is a $15.00 fee for this process.

Connection Fees

The City of Nelson requires the payment of connection fees, fire flow fees and system upgrade fees for new developments and subdivisions.  Please consult the following for the appropriate fees when seeking to connect any building or structure to the City of Nelson water and/or sewer system:
