Locate Underground Services
More and more electrical systems are being installed underground. These underground systems provide a low maintenance, reliable power supply while being aesthetically pleasing, having no overhead lines in the viewscape. However, with all of these benefits, underground electrical lines do pose a hazard when there is excavation planned.
Knowing where these buried lines are before you dig can avert a major catastrophe. If you are planning a project that involves excavation near buried electrical cables, contact Nelson Hydro to visit your site and identify the location of the buried cables.

Please allow three working days for a Nelson Hydro representative to attend to the request. Also, when doing any excavation, you must contact BC One Call for a locate of other underground facilities. BC One Call will contact other utilities that may have underground facilities in your area.
You must also contact City Operations to have water, sanitary and storm sewers located.
