City Manager

The City Manager's office supports Council's strategic planning efforts and oversees the administration of the City, its officers and employees. This department provides recommendations to Council that reflect facts, options and professional opinions pertaining to issues considered by Council and developing in the community.

The City Manager's office takes the lead role in managing the implementation of policy direction established by Council. It provides leadership and direction to all City departments and operations.

Corporate Services, Operations, Fire & Rescue and Nelson Hydro department heads report directly to the City Manager. Management of Human Resources is a component of the City Manager's office.
