Volunteering

The Youth Centre excels with the help of our community and our dedicated volunteers. NDYC has a roster of volunteers who assist the centre in various ways. Some volunteers have specialties and enjoy hosting an art class, Capoeira class or food shop. Others give their time to ensure NDYC can put on great events. Some like to help with ramp maintenance, and others like to stay behind the scenes and create posters or book bands.

Volunteering is easy. Pick up an application form from the centre. Volunteers are also required to complete a criminal record check. Forms can found either at the RCMP if you live outside of Nelson city limits, or the Nelson City Police if you live in town. Volunteer training takes place once a month.
