First Aid Kit

It doesn't take long to assemble a first-aid kit for your home and car for use in the event of an emergency. A typical first-aid kit might include:

  • sterile adhesive bandages in assorted sizes
  • 2- and 4-inch sterile gauze pads (4 to 6 of each size)
  • hypoallergenic adhesive tape
  • triangular cloth bandages (3)
  • 2- and 3-inch sterile rolled bandages (3 of each size)
  • scissors
  • tweezers
  • needle
  • pre-moistened towelettes
  • antiseptic
  • thermometer
  • tongue blades (2)
  • petroleum jelly
  • safety pins, assorted
  • cleaning agent/soap
  • latex gloves (2 pairs minimum)
  • sunscreen
  • aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever
  • syrup of ipecac (to induce vomiting if advised by Poison Control Centre)
  • activated charcoal (if advised by Poison Control Centre)
