Hall Street Project Update for the Week of June 18 to 22nd, 2018

The City’s contractor (McNally) has completed the installation of curbs and gutters in the 100 Block of Hall Street. In the week of June 18 to 22nd, McNally will prepare this area for paving. SPL has indicated that they are scheduled to pave June 22nd & 23rd (weather permitting). This paving will allow for access to the Kootenai Moon/Torchlight Brewery/Glasshouse Optical parking lot and the access ramp located behind 625 Front Street. McNally will also continue to install electrical services and will perform work on the social steps, since the lake level has receded.

The City would like to advise that on June 19, 20, 21 the customer parking area established at 205 Hall Street will be closed facilitate a geotechnical investigation. The lot will be re-opened to customer parking as soon as the investigation has been completed.

The City would like to thank everyone that participated in the stakeholder meeting on June 14th at the Chamber of Commerce. The City’s Contractor (Marwest) was present to provide an overview of the next phase of the project. Marwest is set to begin work on June 25th and will begin work in the 100 Block of Hall Street (from where McNally ended). Marwest has indicated that the construction zone will extend south into the mid-point of the intersection of Hall and Front Street. This Phase of the work is anticipated to proceed from June 25th to the end of August. During this time the traffic flow on Front Street will be reduced to one lane of westbound traffic and one lane of eastbound traffic.

During this work the detour route on Cedar will remain open to facilitate access to the Lakeside Drive businesses and also access to the stores along the 100 Block of Hall Street.
