[ARCHIVED] May 28, 2018 - Update #26 - Hall Street Project Phase II

Hall Street Project Update – Week of May 28 to June 1, 2018

The Stores to Shores project on Hall Street completed a major milestone this week, with install of the deep utilities under the CPR tracks. The City contractor, McNally Excavating mobilized several large pieces of machinery to site, and with assistance by CPR and their specialized track replacement equipment, completed the difficult install without disruption to train service.

The focus for the upcoming week is to carry on with deep utility work near the CPR tracks and extend new sanitary sewer along Hall Street to the large brick building at 625 Front Street. The secondary focus is to install shallow utilities and place the concrete bases designed to support the street lights. New curb and gutter is scheduled to proceed north of the CPR tracks the first full week of June.

Additional road restrictions or closures are not anticipated during the coming week. However, motorists are still requested to follow all traffic control signs. Motorists are requested to please drive slowly in this area.

Due to high lake levels, the dog walk is closed and access to the boat houses is limited.

The City remains committed in keeping traffic moving and ensuring access to businesses along Hall Street and Lakeside Drive. The City requests that the public remain patient during the construction and to continue to support the businesses along Hall Street and Lakeside Drive.
