As part of our commitment to helping individuals prepare for wildfire, the Nelson Fire & Rescue Service offers free Home Ignition Zone Assessments to residents of Nelson. During an assessment, one of our local firefighters will visit your property to walk around with you to evaluate the structure and landscape for its potential vulnerabilities to wildfire. Afterward, you will be sent a list of recommendations for simple steps you can take to increase your property’s resilience to wildfire.
