Hanging a Banner

The City may erect banners for charitable groups or organizations on request, subject to the availability of workers and equipment.

Procedure:

The City may approve banners at the Baker Street or Civic Centre locations which advertise events or activities taking place in the City.

The banners will be erected for a fee of $100.00 to be paid to the City of Nelson by the group, club or organization, provided the event is taking place locally and there is local participation by the supporting group, club or organization, and the event has a community-wide focus and is not discriminatory.

The group or organization making the request must do so by completing the application form at least 60 days prior to the event to ensure the scheduling of time and resources is possible.

Requests for longer than one week may be reduced to one week to accommodate other groups or organizations.

Requests may be declined and referred to council for approval.
