The Nelson Police Department is currently hiring experienced, sworn exempt police officers. 

The current salary for a First-Class Constable is $107,463.37, with increases of 3% in 2024 and 2025. Current serving police officers from outside of Canada do not qualify as an exempt officer candidate. Non-Canadian police officers would enter into the candidate selection process as a new recruit. New recruit applicants from outside of Canada must have Permanent Residence/Landed Immigrant status for a minimum period of 2 years to apply.
